POLITICS UNSUNG

I know there have been a lot of discussions around the kitchen table, the water cooler at work, and probably in the gyms, about this crucial decision just made by the Supreme Court regarding abortion; conveniently before Supreme Court Justice Katanji got there. Anyhoo!!!

However; some of us don’t understand how this happened, or all the terms they are using and why this is so important and how this will affect our daily lives.

Well that’s why I decided to teach a lesson about basic politics. This class will be both educational and informational. Why did I decide to do this now? Because we are losing our basic rights and our freedom to live. It is being taken away from us right in front of our eyes, and yet we say we are woke, but we sleep on a lot of very important stuff, and the primaries are coming up all over the world, here in Green Bay in August, and a lot of us think that’s not that important, but we are dreadfully wrong.

It’s those choices we made a couple of years ago how Roe V Wade was struck down, because we didn’t put the right people in office.

Some of you said this election is not that important. It don’t matter who we get in office, they all crooked and say they gone help and they never do. WRONG MINDSET!

All of us have a role to play in these critical decisions, some march, some organize and some teach and that is my role to play.

I want to go after those voters who don’t understand the political machine that controls our very lives.

IT IS IMPORTANT!

What is Roe v wade and who were the judges who struck down the Roe v Wade.

First let’s look at the Roe V wade case to get some understanding.

Jane Roe v Henry Wade is the case that was held in Texas. Jane a single pregnant women in Texas wanted an abortion. In Texas a woman was only allowed an abortion if it was to save her life. She argued in 1971, and in 1972, they decided in 1973 that she could get the abortion and in 1973 they tried to overturn the decision, but couldn’t because Jane said her 9th and 14th amendments were being denied.

The Judges or Justices both names mean the same.

There are 9 judges/justices in the Supreme Court.

The vote was 5-4.

5 who overturned Roe V Wade. 4 who thought women should have control over their own bodies.

These are the judges who decided that abortions should be illegal:

Clarence Thomas the one who allegedly did sexually harass Anita Hill.

Samuel Leto

Neal Gorsuch

Amy Coney Barrett

Brett Cavanaugh the one who allegedly did some sexual misconduct in college.

Not only did they stop all abortions, they didn’t even give consideration to a woman being raped or if it was incest. Not only that; they made trigger laws, laws that means that abortions are illegal IMMEDIATELY in those red states. As of now they are trying to criminalize their decision. If you go to another state to have an abortion you can be locked up.

Remember what I said; a lot of children means NO DEGREE, NO CAREER, NO KATANJI, No KAMALA!!! Keep that in mind women.

What are the red states? Here they are:

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, west Virginia, Wyoming.

The terms red state and blue state is states that vote for one party most of the time. The Republican Party is the red state and the Democratic Party is the blue state.

The good ole boys club. MARINATE ON THAT!

Lesson 2 will discuss what is the political machine, how it works, who does what, and what some of those words really mean and how those actions have consequences.

I pray that somebody learned something until then, as United Negro College Fund (UNCF) says “A mind is a terrible thing to waste”. Don’t waste yours!
