MANDELA BARNES

Mandela Barnes was born in Milwaukee Dec 1, 1986

The Safe-T act is abolishing cash bail, based on the fact that about 3 out of 5 people are in jail, but have not been convicted of a crime, they just simply couldn’t afford to pay bail. It is over a half a million people sitting in jail cells today. This is problematic for people who live in poverty and specifically people of color.

Starting in January 2023 the SAFE-T act will take place in Illinois. SAFE-T is an acronym for safety, accountability, fairness, and equity-Today. This act will reduce unnecessary arrests and limit people from being locked up for some of the most common misdemeanor offenses.

The commercials they playing to destroy Mandela Barnes reputation is superficial at best and outright lies at most. You should know he is not talking about having no police, but just stating that we should be allocating more money to provide more mental health officers, diversity training for officers, and more strenuous de-escalation training, to name a few.

Don’t fall for the oke doke, thinking that this will let anybody and everybody out of jail because it’s not so. Let me bring some truth to power.

While this act does aim to reduce the number of people detained in jail while they await trial, pretrial release can still be denied when any defendant “poses a specific, real and present threat to any person or the community.” I.e., the act does not allow pretrial release without a judge considering the severity of the case first.

The act also states: “Pretrial release may only be denied when a person is charged with an offense listed in Section 110-6.1 or when the defendant has a high likelihood of willful flight, and after the court has held a hearing under Section 110-6.1.”

NOBODY!!! Is that stupid to think we could live in this world without police, laws, or some sort of policies.

What I would like to know is why they didn’t say all of this while he was Lt, Governor, and now because he is running as an opposing candidate all this is coming out. I got a sneaking suspicion this was planned to smear him. Matter of fact I know it was.

November 8 election is the reason why.

He is up against two time incumbent Ron Johnson who wants a 3rd term.

Let me give you some black history, just in case you didn’t think this was important.

Mandela Barnes is the first African American Lt. Governor and then when he wins he would be the first African American Governor in history.

He’s from Milwaukee and his mother was a public school teacher and his father a factory worker at the auto plant.

He served two terms in the Wisconsin assembly, while working with Tony Evers; so he has experience.

He believes that everybody should have Medicare.

He believes in going green to help the planet.

He believes in keeping our manufacturer jobs.

He believes in helping farming families.

He stands with educational issues, and racial injustice.

He was the chair with the black and Latino legislature.

He was a national leader on stopping the gun violence.

He was a community organizer in Milwaukee.

He serves on the Governors health equity council.

He serves on the Wisconsin criminal justice coordinating council.

He serves on the Wisconsin missing and murdered indigenous women task force.

He serves on the Governor’s council for financial literacy.

He served on the 2020 census committee.

In contrast here is what incumbent Ron Johnson stands for:

  1. Border patrol
  2. Foreign affairs
  3. Budget
  4. Science
  5. Transportation
  6. Ports
  7. Oceans
  8. Freight
  9. Media, Trade, exports, terrorism. NO ABORTIONS REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

He definitely seems out of the loop for us common folk, not that what he does isn’t important, but I think we all would like to see more interest in helping inflation come down so we can feed our kids. Higher wages so we can pay our rent. Bringing gas prices down so we can drive to work. Lowering daycare costs, so we can work without taking out a loan to pay for it. Right here in the United States of America, I’m just saying. Can you help a blue collar person out?

Ron Johnson is working on terrorism, but did he know that he was working with a terrorist right here in the great old USA.

You asked, what is the responsibility of the Governor? I’m glad you asked.

Governors are responsible FOR PROVIDING STATE LAWS.

The Governor has THE POWER TO APPOINT STATE COURT JUDGES.

YOU CAN GET WITH THIS OR YOU CAN GET WITH THAT.

YOU DECIDE! SO VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT BECAUSE IT DOES.
