Mother-Daughter Duo Launches Line Of Black Dolls Sold At Target

$49

ORIJIN BEES DOLLS. Hey let’s get them for Christmas.

Wow! This is so good on so many levels, because I can remember when the first black doll came out, when I was little and every black moma went to every store trying to get the black doll for their daughter and, I remember some couldn’t get them, because they was sold out probably because they only had a few in the first place.

THESE ARE SOME BEAUTIFUL DOLLS AND THEY LOOK SO LIFELIKE! ESPECIALLY THEIR HAIR WITH THEIR HAIRSTYLES

Mattel Toys created the first Black dolls in the popular Barbie line, Francie and Christie, in 1967 and 1969 respectively. This caused controversy at the time they were released

So as you can see this is a very big deal, especially now in this day and age when they think being black with nappy/curly hair is bad, and ugly. This could make all the difference; for a little black girl to see herself in a doll looking so pretty. This could be the difference between feeling worthy and good about herself or feeling like she doesn’t matter.

So everybody who has a black daughter, granddaughter, or you know a little black girl that would be happy to have this doll, run out to Target and get this doll, and I promise you will feel empowered as you do this, because you will also be supporting a black owned and operated business woman who is also a mother of a black daughter.

Here is another black owned and operated business just for us it’s called ALAFFIA

Olowo-Ndjo Tchala is the owner and founder of Alaffia formed in 2003.

Hair – Alaffia
They sell hair and skin products for black people and a percentage of the money goes back to the different tribes in West Africa who make the products. It helps them with education, health and maternally. They use all natural products like shea butter and they are a for profit company with a non-profit company with it. That is sustainable. It’s sold by grove eco system and at Walmart and Target. All their products are eco-friendly and green.

It never cease to amaze me to find out just how many products, businesses, and companies that are black owned and run and we have no clue about them, because they are not sitting at the table of the mainstream economy.
I have found so many websites for us as a black people that teach us so many things such as; how to start your own business or blog, or where are the best places to travel, retire, or live. Who are the top black owned companies? etc.
Here are a few; Black excellist is a very good website for all things black. Culture, community and connection, is there motto as well as to inspire and enlighten. I have found some very good info about everything from business, to social, to vacations, education, and housing just to name a few; www.blackexcellist.com These are just a few examples;

6 Black Wives of Billionaires | Black Excellist
Black Excellist: Black Owned Restaurant

I must throw in my favorite black owned, run and established restaurant in Chicago on the southside 83rd state street it’s called Oooh,Wee and boy it really is Oooh Wee

We even have a news channel catered to us and our neighborhoods, our issues, our people.
Blackculturenews.com their motto is opinions, politics, and culture.

There is also another news channel as well and it is BNC: Black News Channel. Its on 24/7 which is really good for those of us who work all kinds of schedules. Now you can be apprised of everything concerning black people.

A lot of us are always talking about Black Wall Street and how we wish we could be like that again, well guess what we can be like that if we stop being crabs in a barrel and start supporting each other. And stop competing and being jealous of each others snapshots of life, we could make a tremendous difference. As my pastor say talk is cheap it takes money to buy land, so put your money where your mouth is and try to support your local black businesses and even the famous black people who are trying to help us make a difference.

Back in the day we helped each other and supported each other through slavery, civil rights, and more; well lets start this new year as God is doing a new thing by supporting your black owned businesses and products. Did you know that black people spend billions of dollars on stuff? Just imagine if we spent that towards black owned businesses, companies, products. Well I’m giving everybody a chance to do just that.

Finally; lets, support are artists, athletes, and owners. For example; Jay Z has produced a really good western based on a true story about black cowboys with a great soundtrack and some of the best black actors are in it. The Harder They Fall on Netflix. When we support these shows on TV or at the movies then this will create more opportunities for us.

For those of you who love music like myself whether it’s Gospel, House, R&B, or Jazz lets buy their CDs, or DVD’s. Let’s go out and support them when they come to your town by going to the venue, because that’s the only way they will have more shows like that.
These days the millennials and even the older generations love challenges. So I have a challenge for all black people and anybody else who knows that when you help one race out of poverty it helps us all. I challenge yall to go out and support as much as you are able to, any black owned business, product or company that is standing for what we are and that is unity, peace, love, economic equality, and empowering the oppressed.
Do a tiktok showing you buying something from them, let’s see what we can do if we start this now and by this time next year lets see if we ALL won’t be doing better.
READY!SET!GO!
